Marcelo Berlanda has completed a 5 1/2 years University degree in Agricultural Engineering and has extensive experience in Olive production. His focus has always been to maximise returns for producers by applying the latest knowledge and technology available in the industry. Marcelo has worked for the largest Olive plantations in Australia and has been involved in providing practical and cost effective solutions in Horticulture. Harvesting is the single most important factor affecting growers returns. Marcelo has been involved with mechanical harvesting since 2001, where the he carried out the first trials with over the row grape and olive harvesters. Since then he has been contributing to the development of harvesters in Australia, USA and Argentina.

In 2004 Marcelo was project manager for Maqtec Australia manufacturing the reknown Colossus, however after extensive research in 2008 he decided to introduce the COE brand in Argentina. Toghether with his business partner (Mr. Francisco "Pancho" Copello) they have revolutionized the olive industry in Argentina. The introduction of the COE shakers has significantly reduced costs by us much as 50%. Currently COE shakers are leaders in Argentina and Uruguay. This is the result of the Research and Develpment carried out in conjuction with the manufacturer COE and the clients who have the confidence in the COE brand and the backup service provided by Mr. Copello and Berlanda. Over the past 7 years they have been responsible for the sales of over 30 sets of shakers in Argentina, Australia, South Africa and Uruguay where they are the Official Dealers
